Loyalists V.S Patriots By: José and Jason © The French & Indian war The French & Indian war is when the French and the Indians fought for the Ohio river valley in the 1600’s. The British, France and Spain fought often for land. The natives were called Indians which named the event The French & Indian War. The British lost pretty often because there red uniforms were the perfect targets. After a while the British troops took over Quebec. After that the British wanted peace. The Proclamation 0f 1763 The Proclamation of 1763 is when the British didn’t let the colonists move west from the Appalachian mountains. So the colonists got mad from that and they kept moving west. Around 2,000 settlers died because of the fighting that happened. The Quartering act The British parliament passed a law that said they had to provide them with food, fuel, candles and transportation. Some colonists weren’t the friendliest to the British soldiers. It was caused by the French and Indian War because the French or the Natives might harm them. The Stamp act When the French and the Indian war was over Britain was in debt. Then the parliament taxed the colonists. This act is know the Stamp act. Since the stamp act was around they taxed printed papers, pamphlets, marriage licenses and playing cards. To show that they paid tax the printed paper had to have a blue stamp. Some colonists refused to purchase stamps until the parliament in March 1766 repealed the law. The Boston Massacre In 1770 5 people died in the Massacre and 6 people were wounded. It all started when the towns people were throwing pieces of wood chunks, snowballs and sharp pieces of ice at a British troop. A small mob of colonists on King street started this fight the troops Lobster backs and Bloody backs. Soon other troops came out to fight. Captain Preston yelled “ DON’T FIRE” when a soldier heard “ FIRE” he shot into the crowd, the mob grew closer and the British soldiers shot and they got scared. The Boston Tea Party The Boston tea party is when the sons of liberty dressed up as Indians and they went and boarded the ship with tea. They got axes and cut the wood barrels open with tea in it, they dumped 90,000 pounds of tea into the Boston Harbor. This happened after the Boston Massacre. The Intolerable act The parliament punished the colonists by making new laws. These laws were very harsh that they said they can not accepted them. The colonists said they will help by sending supplies. After a while they had the first continental congress. The colonists dumped the tea into the mouth of the tax collector and he was plucked with feathers. The Boston Port Act (Extra credit) The Boston Port act closed the Boston Harbor. Traidships couldn’t enter or leave the harbor until the tea was paid. THANK YOU FOR WATHCHING PATRIOTS V.S. LOYALISTS PATRIOTS ROCK!!!
