Jennifer Lynn Muñiz (née Lopez; born July 24, 1969) is an American
businesswoman, entertainer, philanthropist and producer. She became interested in
pursuing a career in the entertainment industry following a minor role in the 1986 film
My Little Girl, to the dismay of her Puerto Rican parents, who believed that it was an
unrealistic career route for a Hispanic. Lopez gained her first regular high-profile job as
a Fly Girl dancer on In Living Color in 1991, where she remained a regular until she
decided to pursue an acting career in 1993. She received her first leading role in the
Selena biopic of the same name in 1997. Lopez became the first Latina actress to earn
over $1 million for a role the following year, with the film Out of Sight. She ventured
into the music industry in 1999 with her debut studio album, On the 6, joining a select
few in successfully converting from a film to a music career.
With the simultaneous release of her second studio album J.Lo and her film The
Wedding Planner in 2001, Lopez became the first person to have a number one album
and film in the same week. Her 2002 remix album, J to tha L–O! The Remixes, was the
first in history to debut at number one on the US Billboard 200, while her fifth studio
album, Como Ama una Mujer (2007), received the highest first-week sales for a Spanish
album in the United States. Lopez has established herself as a prominent figure in both
the film and music industry, in a career spanning four decades. With records sales of 75
million and a cumulative film gross of over $2 billion, Lopez is regarded as the most
influential Hispanic performer in the United States, as well as the highest-paid Latin
actress.[3] As of 2013, Forbes ranks her as one of the "10 Most Powerful Musicians" and
"World's Most Powerful Women".[4][5]
Lopez's public image and personal relationships have attracted worldwide media
attention. Lopez's first high profile relationship was with media mogul Sean Combs,
who accompanied her to the 2000 Grammy Awards where she wore the infamous Green
Versace dress. She became romantically involved with actor Ben Affleck, who would
later become the muse of her third studio album This Is Me... Then (2002), while still
married to her second husband Cris Judd. Lopez wed long-time friend Marc Anthony in
2004 and gave birth to their twins, Emme and Maximilian, in February 2008. The
entertainer has used her position as a global icon of pop culture to begin her own
empire, consisting of various clothing lines, accessories, fragrances, a production
company, television shows and a charitable foundation among other activities. As of
2012, Lopez has an estimated net worth of $250 million.[1]

Ariadna Thalía Sodi Miranda (Spanish pronunciation: [aɾiˈaðna taˈli.a ˈsoði miˈɾanda];
born 26 August 1971) known mononymously as Thalía, is a Mexican singer,
songwriter, published author, actress and businesswoman, who has sung in Spanish,
English, Portuguese, French and Tagalog.[2] She is recognized as the most successful
female solo Mexican artist internationally by media conglomerates such as Univision
Communications, Televisa and TV Azteca,[3][4][5] while she has sold over 40 million
records worldwide as a solo artist, being considered as one of the best selling Latin
musicians of all time.[6][7][8][9] Big part of the media refer to her as the "Queen of Latin
pop",[10][11] because of her numerous Latin pop hit singles and her legacy within the latin
pop music scene of the past 2 decades.[12][13] However, apart from singing, Thalía has
also had a renowned career in acting, as she starred in a variety of soap operas that were
watched by over two billion people in more than 180 countries and marked history in
television because of their extremely high ratings.[14][15] She was converted into a global
television icon, especially during the decade of the 1990s, while she was publically
referred to as the reigning "Queen of telenovelas" by the mass media, because of the
phenomenal reception her soap operas had.[16] She was also reported to be the most
successful telenovela actress in history, as stated by Televisa, the largest mass media
company in the Spanish-speaking world.[17][18]
In 2008, the British tabloid The Sun, named her as one of "the 50 female singers who

This has helped her to maintain her autonomy and her status as a powerful woman
within the recording industry. She is also an occasional author, model, fashion designer,
and record producer. With her productions, Thalía has received several gold and
platinum sales certifications in most American, European, and Asian countries,

Coldplay are a British rock band formed in 1996 by lead vocalist Chris Martin and lead
guitarist Jonny Buckland at University College London.[4] After they formed under the
name Pectoralz, Guy Berryman joined the group as a bassist and they changed their
name to Starfish.[5] Will Champion joined as a drummer, backing vocalist, and multiinstrumentalist, completing the line-up. Manager Phil Harvey is often considered an
unofficial fifth member.[6] The band renamed themselves "Coldplay" in 1998,[7] before
recording and releasing three EPs; Safety in 1998, Brothers & Sisters as a single in 1999
and The Blue Room in the same year. The latter was their first release on a major label,
after signing to Parlophone.[8]
They achieved worldwide fame with the release of the single "Yellow" in 2000,
followed by their debut album released in the same year, Parachutes, which was
nominated for the Mercury Prize. The band's second album, A Rush of Blood to the
Head (2002), was released to critical acclaim and won multiple awards, including
NME's Album of the Year. They have also come top of the BBC Radio 2 poll of the
favourite album of all time. Their next release, X&Y, the best-selling album worldwide
in 2005, was met with mostly positive reviews upon its release, though some critics felt
that it was inferior to its predecessor. The band's fourth studio album, Viva la Vida or
Death and All His Friends (2008), was produced by Brian Eno and released again to
largely positive reviews, earning several Grammy nominations and wins at the 51st
Grammy Awards.[9] On 24 October 2011, they released their fifth studio album, Mylo
Xyloto, which received mixed to positive reviews, topped the charts in over 34
countries, and was the UK's best-selling rock album of 2011.[10]
The band has won a number of music awards throughout their career, including eight
Brit Awards—winning Best British Group three times, five MTV Video Music Awards,

than 60 million records worldwide.[11][12] In December 2009, Rolling Stone readers
voted the group the fourth-best artist of the 2000s.[13]
Coldplay have been an active supporter of various social and political causes, such as
Oxfam's Make Trade Fair campaign and Amnesty International. The group have also

Train is an American pop rock band from San Francisco, California. The band
currently consists of a core trio of Pat Monahan (vocals), Jimmy Stafford (guitar), and
Scott Underwood (drums).
With a lineup that included original members Monahan, Stafford, Underwood, Rob
Hotchkiss, and Charlie Colin, the band achieved mainstream success with its debut
album, Train, which was released in 1998 with the hit "Meet Virginia". Train's 2001
album, Drops of Jupiter contained the lead single "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)", which
won two Grammy Awards in 2002. The album was certified double platinum in the
United States and Canada and remains the band's best-selling album to date.
Train's third studio album, My Private Nation, released in 2003, was certified platinum
in the United States with the hit "Calling All Angels". Following the departures of
Hotchkiss and Colin, the band released its fourth album, For Me, It's You in 2006, with
Brandon Bush (keyboards) and Johnny Colt (bass). Despite a generally positive
reception from critics, the album was commercially unsuccessful. Train then went on a
three-year hiatus.
In late 2009, Train released the album Save Me, San Francisco, from which album three
singles—-the RIAA 6x Platinum-certified international hit "Hey, Soul Sister", "If It's
Love" and "Marry Me"—-reached high positions on the Billboard Hot 100 at number
three, 34, and 34, respectively. The album itself has been certified gold by both the
RIAA and ARIA and has sold 954,000 units.[1] Since 2008, Jerry Becker (guitar,
keyboards, backing vocals) and Hector Maldonado (bass, guitar, percussion, backing
vocals) have been touring and recording with the group around the world.
In April 2012, Train released their sixth studio album titled California 37. The first
single from the album entitled "Drive By" reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100
and was a Top 10 in the UK, their first Top 20 single since 2009.

Katheryn Elizabeth "Katy" Hudson[1] (born October 25, 1984), known by her stage
name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, businesswoman, philanthropist,
and actress. She was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. Having had very little
exposure to mainstream pop music in her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel
music as a teen and released her debut studio album, Katy Hudson (2001). She also
recorded a second solo album which never received release.
In 2007, Perry signed a recording contract with Capitol Records and adopted her current
stage name. The following year, she came to prominence with her second studio album
and first mainstream release, One of the Boys (2008), which produced singles "I Kissed
a Girl", "Hot n Cold", "Thinking of You" and, "Waking Up in Vegas". The project was
further promoted through the Hello Katy Tour. Perry's third record, Teenage Dream
(2010), spawned the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles "California Gurls",
"Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T." and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)". In doing so, it
became the first album recorded by a female artist in history to produce five numberone hits, and the second album overall behind Michael Jackson's Bad (1987). Perry
embarked on the California Dreams Tour following its release. In 2012, it was reissued
as Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection and contained the number-one single
"Part of Me". Her fourth album, Prism, is expected to be released October 22, 2013.
Perry has received numerous awards and nominations. She has also been nominated for
nine Grammy Awards and was named by Billboard as 2012's Woman of the Year.[2]
She remains the only artist to spend 69 consecutive weeks in the top ten of the Hot
100.[3] She has ventured into celebrity endorsement and released fragrances Purr, Meow
and Killer Queen. She made her film debut voicing Smurfette in The Smurfs (2011).
Perry was ranked at number fourteen on Billboard's list of top moneymakers of 2011,
grossing more than $11 million.[4] She was spotlighted in her own 3D autobiographical
film, Katy Perry: Part of Me (2012), which concentrated on her life as a touring artist
and the breakdown of her one-year marriage to English comedian Russell Brand.

Miley Ray Cyrus (born Destiny Hope Cyrus; November 23, 1992)[2][3] is an American
actress and recording artist. The daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, she held
minor roles in the television series Doc and the film Big Fish in her childhood. In 2006,
Cyrus rose to prominence as a teen idol after being cast in the Disney Channel
television series Hannah Montana, in which she portrayed the starring character Miley
Stewart. After signing a recording contract with Hollywood Records in 2007, she
released Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus, which served as the series' soundtrack
and Cyrus' debut studio album. It sold three million copies in the United States, and
additionally produced the Billboard Hot 100 top-ten single "See You Again". Later that
year, her Best of Both Worlds Tour was adapted into the film Hannah Montana &
Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert.
Cyrus' second album Breakout (2008) was certified platinum by the Recording Industry
Association of America (RIAA) for sales exceeding one million copies. It also featured
the successful tracks "7 Things" and "Fly on the Wall". That same year, she launched
her film career as the voice actress for Penny in the animated film Bolt. She earned a
nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for her performance of
its theme song, "I Thought I Lost You". In 2009, Cyrus starred in the feature film
Hannah Montana: The Movie, the soundtrack of which introduced her to country and
adult contemporary markets. Its lead single, "The Climb", remains among Cyrus' most
successful singles to date.
Cyrus began to cultivate an adult image and mainstream pop sound with her extended
play The Time of Our Lives (2009). Peaking at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, its
track "Party in the U.S.A." became Cyrus' highest-peaking single on the chart thus far.
Her increasingly maturing image progressed with the release of the film The Last Song
and her third album, Can't Be Tamed in 2010. The latter project featured more
prominent dance elements than her earlier releases, and was promoted through sexuallythemed performances. In 2011, Cyrus was featured as a teenage rebellion in the drama
film LOL, though its limited release failed to make back its budget. She also appeared in
the direct-to-video film So Undercover. In 2013, Cyrus signed a recording contract with
RCA Records, and announced plans to release her fourth album, Bangerz, later that
year. Its lead single, "We Can't Stop", was noted for developing an increasingly
provocative image, particularly through its accompanying music video.
Since her debut, Cyrus has become one of the most successful artists to originate from
Disney. Cyrus ranked number thirteen on Forbes' 2010 Celebrity 100.[4] For the 2011
Guinness World Records, she was named the “Most Charted Teenager” following her
29th US Billboard Hot 100 chart entry on November 7, 2009 with “Party in the
USA”.[5] She has attained a total of six Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, and had
four RIAA certified albums by the age of 18.

Rubio,[3] is a Mexican singer, actress, hostess, model and businesswoman. She is
known in Mexico and Ibero-America as an original member of the pop group
Timbiriche from 1981 through 1991.[4] Rubio has sold over 20 million albums
worldwide as a solo artist[5][6] and is considered one of the most influential Latin
celebrities in the world.[7]
Her debut album, La Chica Dorada (1992) was released under EMI Music, followed by
24 Kilates (1993). Her follow-up albums, El tiempo es oro (1995) and Planeta Paulina
(1996) helped Rubio become better known in Latin America. Rubio's departure from
EMI Music happened in the same year due to personal conflicts with the label.
With her new label, Universal Music, she released her sixth studio album Paulina
(2000) and her crossover album Border Girl (2002), both had commercial success in
Latin America and Europe; the first of these was nominated and won many awards.
According to Billboard, Paulina was the best selling Latin album in the United States in
2001, selling over 1 million copies in the US alone.[8] Paulina has sold over 5 million
copies.[9] Her follow-up albums, Pau-Latina (2004) and Ananda (2006) consolidated
Rubio internationally as one of the most successful Mexican super stars in the world.
Her ninth album, Gran City Pop (2009) had a fresh and original concept, and focused in
vision, to reflect Paulina's life and musical experiences she had while traveling the
world. Her latest album Brava! (2011) focuses in electronic genres. In 2012, Rubio
served as a coach on the second season of La Voz... Mexico. The following year, she
served as a coach on La Voz Kids and as a judge on the third season of the American
version of The X Factor.
According to E! Entertainment, the singer reached number twelve on the 25 Sexiest Pop
Divas.[10]
