From the desk of our DOM:
May 2-3 2009 our Association has the
opportunity to host a Better Bridges Weekend.
This event is sponsored by the Georgia Baptist
Convention and is held in each association every
eight to ten years.
The weekend will begin Saturday evening with a
dinner at Winshape. Each pastor and his wife
along with two additional couples from each
participating church are invited to attend. On
Sunday Morning the GBC will provide a speaker
during your worship. If that doesn’t work for your
church they would like to provide a speaker for
an adult Sunday School Class and a brief
testimony during your worship time.
I hope that your church is planning to participate.
Please return the form that was sent to you by
the GBC or contact Allen Hill at 770-936-5241 or
by email ahill@gabaptist.org.

Notes from the Ministry Center:
It’s the small things that give me the most pleasure. The view out my office window is one of my greatest pleasures.
I sit here and watch three little squirrels hurrying around gathering their food. Sometimes, one of them will get right
up close to my window and just look. I am amazed that the God who put this world in place, who created me, who
gave me the opportunity to serve Him also gives me squirrels to look at. He also provides for the food pantry. Not
long ago, we were completely out of Pop Tarts, a very popular item. I knew it was time for me to make a trip to buy
some, but I put if off for a couple of hours. Earlier in the day, I had asked God to provide what we needed to
minister. As I was getting my keys out of my purse to head to the store, someone delivered several dozen cases of
Pop Tarts as a donation to the ministry center! Those Pop Tarts brought tears to my eyes. I had asked God to
provide for the ministry and He did. It’s those small things, squirrels and Pop Tarts that let me know God is so good!
