Meena Hemchandra appointed as the Executive Director (ED) of Reserve Bank of India
(RBI. As an ED, She will look after Department of Banking Supervision, Department of Cooperative Banking Supervision and Department of Non-Banking Supervision.She
succeeded Chandan Sinha.

Amendment) Bill, 2013 that related to the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) between
India and Bangladesh. It is the 100th amendment to the Indian Constitution and amends
its first schedule.
 Intel announced to buy Altera for 16.7 billion US dollars
Intel Corporation announced that it will acquire Altera Corporation for 16.7 billion US
dollars.Intel, the world’s largest chipmaker, will pay 54 dollar a share in cash to Altera to
complete the acquisition process.
 RBI permitted cross holding in infrastructure bonds
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) allowed cross holding in long-term infrastructure bonds.
With this, now banks would be able to cross hold these bonds among themselves for
financing infrastructure and affordable housing loans, which earlier was not permitted.

 RBI lowers repo rate to 7.25 per cent




The Reserve Bank of India in its second bi-monthly policy announced on has reduced the
policy repo rate under the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF) by 25 basis points from 7.5
per cent to 7.25 per cent with immediate effect.
