Assist in providing accurate gas and electric facility maps of CPS Energy's service area. 2. General knowledge of Geography, Cartography, GIS technology, and various digital data formats such as DGN, World, or Raster files. 3. General knowledge of ArcGIS software, related data, metadata, and data modeling. 4. Update and maintain electric and gas distribution facilities in CPS Energy's Geographic Database while ensuring data integrity. 5. Coordinate with various GIS Services' Technicians to resolve field changes and/or field-to-map discrepancies. 6. Accompany a GIS Services' Technician in conducting field research and GPS data collection of electric and gas facilities. 7. Perform Quality Control and Quality Assurance on all data entered into GIS Database to ensure data integrity. 8. Organize, maintain, and archive computer data, drawings, maps and files. 9. Proficient in analytical problem solving skills. Position Requirements A GIS Services' Intern candidate must possess: 1. A minimum of 30 college credit hours with 12 college hours in GIS preferably in the ESRI software. 2. One year experience in Geography/Geographic Information Systems, Cartography, data editing in ArcGIS/ArcFM. 3. General knowledge of updating and maintaining a GIS Database. 4. General knowledge of GIS technology, cartography and various digital data formats such as but not limited to DGN, World, or Raster files. 5. Ability to produce mapping products for internal and external use. 6. Ability to travel to conduct field surveys. 7. Ability to interpret and implement data from as-built, job construction sketches into standard symbology utilizing ArcGIS. 8. Ability to follow maintenance procedures and work flow processes 9. General knowledge of Projections and Coordinate Systems such as Texas State Plane Coordinate System (NAD 83). 10. PC experience in a Windows environment utilizing Microsoft Office application software such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Internet Explorer. 11. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. 12. Effective customer service skills. 13. Ability to complete assignments with minimal direct supervision. 14. Strong organizational skills. 15.
