Plan, direct, and supervise the custodial services operations (staff, budget, equipment, tools and supplies) for the
University residential system.



Prepare internal operating budgets.
Prepare plans and specifications for acquisition of supplies and equipment.

Develop and maintain a staff training program to include techniques, methods,
products, and equipment use.
Perform human resources functions including interviewing, selection, training,
performance evaluation, salary determination, promotion, disciplinary action, and
maintenance of administrative records.
Counsel support staff on policies, procedures, and methods to ensure uniform
standards for all residential facilities.
Resolve operating problems and employee complaints and grievances.







Plan and supervise custodial services for University residential units and
complexes.
Consult with managers on work schedules and priorities.
Participate in University Housing & Dining planning policy and procedural
meetings.
Recommend major building repair, replacement and modification projects.

Recommend and review major and/or

Conduct periodic building, room, and grounds inspections.

Service all furniture. Orders student room furniture.
Direct and control work schedules and priorities for custodial supervisory and
support staff.
Review building and facilities reports from maintenance and custodial staff and
initiate appropriate follow-up action.
Maintain safety and sanitation standards in compliance with University, State,
and Federal codes and regulations.
Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the
public.

Minimum of five years of custodial management experience in a large, complex
organization.
Experience with an integrated pest management control program.
Minimum of five years of experience in personnel supervision and the ability to
apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to
develop and improve individual, team, and organizational performance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively transmit,
receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through appropriate
communication methods and behaviors at an extensive proficiency level.
Extensive proficiency in the ability to work with variety of individuals and groups in a
constructive and civil manner while appreciating the unique contribution of diverse
individuals.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) software.
Strong leadership and organization skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and
