 The two never go to war but back disputes and wars all
over the world for the next 50 years
 Communism is determined to spread and Capitalism
is determined to stop it from spreading.
 Communism takes hold in impoverished countries
 Many impoverished countries have brutal dictators put
in place with Capitalist support
 Brutal Dictators were also put in place by Communists
 1945: East and West Germany are segregated and

 1973 Americans withdraw from Vietnam
 1979 : USSR invaded Afghanistan.
 1986 : Meeting in Iceland between USSR
(Gorbachev) and USA (Reagan).
 1987 : INF Treaty signed.

 1989: Berlin Wall comes down
 1990: The Cold War Ends
 1991: Soviet Union Implodes
 One Super power is left

 NATO imposes sanctions on Russia
