Section 3 – Environmental Specifications and Site Preparation
General for all Data Domain System(s)
To ensure an efficient implementation, proper power, floor space, rack space, cooling, networking, and cabling
are critical, and need to be determined and completed by the customer prior to installing the Data Domain
Appliance(s).
 At least one Cat5e or Cat6 cable(s).
 Minimum one data cable per Data Domain appliance, to attach it to an IP switch.
 You can use 220V if you supply the cables and requisite power receptacles accordingly.
 Four-post rack or shelf to install the Data Domain appliance.
Notes:
• This form is intended to be used for one unit, please fill out one form per unit being installed.
• Model types represented by product families display the maximum power rating.
• The DD880 does not support 110V power.

Interface Naming: Interface naming changes and corresponds to both DDOS version and model numbers. All
currently shipping models can use legacy port naming (DDOS ver 4.8 and previous) with the exception of the
670. If DDOS ver 4.9 is used the interface names will correspond to the column under with the model is
specified. Virtual Ethernet Interfaces do not change.
