MAINTENANCE PLANNER The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all plant maintenance activities including the coordination of preventive, planned, and unplanned maintenanc. Process and prioritize work orders, examine and determine best approach for work order completion. Analyze all planned change parts and make recommendations for Preventative Maintenance changes. Ensure functional standards are maintained between maintenance, accounting and production departments along with accountability of external vendors. Initiates requisitions for maintenance and indirect purchases. Act as a liaison between the production, engineering, and maintenance departments. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure parts inventory is adequate to support production/drumbeat activity and at the lowest possible level. Lead Pre and Post Drumbeat meetings as well as all Drumbeat activities. Ensure work orders are accomplished and correctly prioritized. Communicate daily with maintenance, production, accounting and vendors to resolve any issues. Communicate daily and weekly notes on planned and unplanned work Supervisor functions. (Weekend Rotation, Cover absences, First Hours and ensuring standard work process adherence) Make equipment numbers, tasks and task numbers Requisition parts and materials as needed for work order packages and nonstocked items. Create reports as needed Identify and develop projects for continuous improvement within the department and the plant, including reliability improvements Identify and implement cost reduction projects in the facility. Review work order backlog and rework to determine root cause and provide improvement recommendations Reduce inventory through standardization (excess inventory) Develop standard work order templates for jobs that are repetitive and require only time planning Work with other planners on updating PM s (hour based, functionality, recommended changes, etc ) Support other departments and project work as needed. REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Bachelor’s Degree Must have SAP or CMMS experience Must have formal planner training or experience Must have three to five years of experience in a maintenance role in a food manufacturing environment Must have machine repair background. Must have computer skills, MS-Word, MS-Excel, and CAD.
