Poetry Portfolio Assignment
You will be creating an illustrated portfolio of your favourite
poems you have written.
In your portfolio, you must include:
 A Cover/Title Page (name, date, title, illustration, neat and
creative)
 A Table of Contents
 8 – 10 Poems You Have Written (each a different type)
 Illustrations for Each Poem
 A Poetry Self-Reflection
 An Analysis of 1 Poem you Read by a Famous Poet (Be sure
to include the poem as well)
Remember to…
 make your good copies neat and easy to read
 make your poetry portfolio visually appealing by using colours,
different texts, pictures, etc.
 use the rubric to make sure everything is included
Bonus Marks:
1. You may add an introduction page to explain why you like to write
poetry or why you wrote about certain topics or subjects.
2. You may also include a poet study on a poet that you have been
reading about.
A Table of Contents is a list of the poems in your portfolio, in the order they
appear. There are pages numbers for each poem. Here is an example of what it
could look like.
