Intra-University Competitions

The Moot Court Society organizes the Jindal Cup once a year. Applications are open to all students of the Law School, and the Best Speaker, Best Memorial,

Best Team and Best Speaker (Finals) of the Competition receive awards. In addition, the Society also inducts individual participants as researchers and/or speakers to the MCS on the basis of their performance and judges’ feedback.

Key and Notable Achievements

 Overall Champions, Oxford Price Media Law Moot Court Competition,

2014 (South Asia Rounds), and Overall Champions, Oxford Price Media

Law Moot Court Competition (World Rounds, April 2014) organized by the

Programme in Comparative Media Law and Policy (PCMLP) at the University of

Oxford.

 Winners, Asia-Pacific Rounds in Indonesia (2012), ELSA’s Moot Court

Competition on World Trade Law and Semi-Finalists, World Rounds in

France (2012) The Moot is organized by the European Law Students’ Association

(ELSA) with rotating locations for its regional and world rounds.

 Runner-up, in the National Rounds of the 13 th Henry Dunant Memorial

Moot Court Competition in September 2013. In 2012, the University Team finished as semi-finalists and a team member secured the “Best Researcher” award. In the 2011 edition of the same competition, a team member secured the “Best Advocate” award.

 Qualified as one of the three teams to represent India at the International

Criminal Court Moot Court Competition hosted by The Grotius Centre for

International Legal Studies in The Hague in May 2014.

 Overall Champions (April 2011, and April 2014), NLSIU’s International

Arbitration Competition Hosted by the Arbitration Society at National Law

School of India University, Bangalore. A member from the team also received the award of Best Speaker in the 2014 edition.

 Overall Champions, Nani Palkhivala National Tax Moot Court Competition

(October 2013) hosted by the Moot Court Association of Government law

College. The Moot has the distinction of being India's first and has long been the only moot in the country that is exclusively based on Taxation Law.
