Sand Dunes • Sand dunes are formed by the wind which carries light grains of sand. • The wind can cause heavy grains of sand to bounce. • All the blown sand accumulates and settles into a dune. Sand Dunes The Kelso Sand Dunes are found in the Mojave Desert in California. Frost Wedging • Frost wedging occurs when water freezes then thaws • This process causes erosion • Frost wedging is so strong, it can cause rocks to split Frost Wedging Ypsilon Mountain is in the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.
