Social Sciences
 The social sciences are the fields of scientific
knowledge and academic scholarship that study social
groups and, more generally, human society.
This includes anthropology, archaeology, economics,
geography, history, political science, psychology, and
sociology.
Anthropology
 Anthropology is the study of human beings,
everywhere and throughout time. This can involve the
study of cultures and language.
 Its basic questions concern, "What defines Homo
sapiens?" "Who are the ancestors of modern Homo
sapiens?" "What are our physical traits?" "How do we
behave?" "Why are there variations and differences
among different groups of humans?" "How has the
evolutionary past of Homo sapiens influenced its
social organization and culture?" and so forth.
Archaeology
 is the science that studies human cultures through the
recovery, documentation, analysis, and interpretation
of material remains and environmental data, including
architecture, artifacts, features, biofacts, and
landscapes.
Economics
 the science that deals with the production,
distribution, and consumption of goods and services,
or the material welfare of humankind.
