03) Concert at the Public Gardens. Free concerts in the
bandstand in the Public Gardens all summer starting at 2
pm on Sunday afternoons.
04) Yoga in the Park. Point Pleasant Park, Sunday
mornings, 10:00-11:00am, FREE!
Directions: Lower Parking Lot- walk towards the anchor
along the main path: Sailor’s Memorial Way Road- (along
the water) for about 10 minutes. It’s *past* the anchor.
When you see a small fort wall with trees on top and a
little sign that says "10" we are just around the corner.
05) Meditation. Every Monday- Friday: 7-8:15am and 910am at Halifax Shambhala Centre, 1084 Tower Road,
(902)420-1118, halifax@shambhala.org. Come to the
Centre for an hour of sitting practice of shamatha
meditation. No charge.
06) Open Ball Hockey. $5, equipment provided. All Welcome!

07) Dancing. Mondays, until August 25, Free to
Move will be demonstrating Afro-Latin and Cuban-style
dance moves at Tall Ships Quay on the Halifax
waterfront. From 6pm to 7pm there will be an intro class
to different Latin dances, and open dancing from 7pm to
9:30pm. The music will be mostly salsa, but will also
include some bachata, merengue, kizomba, reggaeton,
and dance hall. Payment is by freewill donation.
08) Board Room Game Café Open gaming night that
provides an opportunity to meet new people and play
great games at the same time!

09) Kayaking. St. Mary’s Boat Club, Adult Paddle Night. Mon
& Wed 6:00-8:00pm, June 1 - August 31, $15 per

10) Bike Again! Located at 102-6050 Almon Street, , in
the first roll-up bay door on your left down the alley. Bike
Again! is a volunteer-run, do-it-yourself bike shop. We
provide the space, tools, and some know-how, you do
the work. Mon 6pm - 9pm . Tues 6-9pm Women and
Trans* bike repair night. Open to women and trans*
identified folks. Wed 5pm to 9pm - all welcome!
11) Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. (1675 Lower Water St,
Halifax) Free admission (or donation) Tuesday nights 5-8pm;

courtyard (rain venue in our Small Craft Gallery) with
concerts starting at 7 pm. These are free events as part
of our free Tuesday nights in the museum.
12) The Spot. The Spot is a FREE artistic space for
ages 12 to 30. At The Spot you can play and record
music, write, draw, paint, sculpt, take photos and videos,
and anything else you can think of. Local artists are
around to offer their experience. Tues and Thurs 5:30pm
- 7:30pm at The Pavilion, 5816 Cogswell St. Contact

13) Clay Café. Pottery painting beginning at $5. All

15) Something New. A new HRM R.E.C. Van will spend
the summer visiting public parks, municipal beaches,
spray pads and playgrounds throughout the Halifax
region, providing free recreational sports and activities to

16) Try a gym. At the Captain William Spry Community
Centre, 16 Sussex St, you can buy a day pass for $5.00
and use the facilities. Monday to Friday: 6:30am 9:00pm, Please note: 6:30am - 8:30am is open to
members and punch card holders only. Front desk opens
at 8:30am, Saturday: 8:30am - 8:00pm, Sunday: 8:30am

17) Indoor Walk at the Canada Game Centre. $3

18) Folk dancing. On Thursdays this summer (7:30pm,
weather permitting), the Folkdancers’ Association of
Nova Scotia will offer a relaxed, recreational setting for
folk dances near Alderney Ferry Terminal. Beginners are
always welcome. No partner is necessary, as most
dances are done in circles and lines. $5 to come dance
each week. Runs until August 28.

20) Walk. Join the Chebucto Hiking Club's (CHC) at 10
am every Thursday morning in the parking lot of
Graham's Grove Park on Prince Albert Road (across
from the Braemar Superstore) for a 10km walk around
Dartmouth or on the trails in Shubie Park. Visit

21) Needle Craft Group. Knitting, crocheting, quilting,

31) Hiking Club. Chebucto Hiking Club! Events are 10kms +
with a designated walk leader and "ender" familiar with the trail.
Walks usually take a little over 2 hours. No need to pre-register.

studio for 10 permanent artists located in Halifax. We
have temporary studio space and a Project Room
available for creative people in our community. Our free
