Halifax County Public Schools Halifax, VA SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST Halifax County Public Schools offers an opportunity to advance skills in assessment, consultation, counseling, and intervention planning in the field of School Psychology. Specialized areas of interest can be emphasized. Halifax County Public Schools offers collaboration with an experienced staff of school psychologists. The school psychologists are based at the Central Office and are assigned to various schools to ensure successful transition in pre-K through secondary level programs. Biweekly peer supervision meetings are held to consult on assessment, RTI, counseling cases, and service planning. Halifax County is a Southern Virginia community with an innovative approach to education. The Halifax County Public Schools has a model program of Academies for secondary students to advance in various areas of interests. The special needs students are served by the Department of Special Education Services. Psychological services are provided under a model of role expansion that includes full participation in the problem solving process of Child Study Teams, RTI Teams, Counseling Services, Consultation, Psychological Assessment, In-service Presentations, and Behavioral/Instructional Interventions.
