Homework and Grading
• Late work
• Accepted when a note is provided from home, the
student was ill, or absent for another reason.
• Grade will decrease by 10% each day the
assignment is late
• Grades are based on percentages rather than
points. Homework is weighted more heavily than
tests in terms of history and English, but writing
assignments are a huge part of the English grade.
For example:
• Weekly writing is worth 30% of the total
English grade, therefore an averaged grade for
all writing assignments goes towards 30% of
the English grade
13
• Special Scores: (The are no A+ grades
unless the student receives extra credit on
an assignment or test)
•√+ = Extra Credit (A+)
•√ = Full Credit (A)
•√- = Partial Credit (C)
14
Aeries On-line Grading
• Keep track of your child’s grades from home
• I do my best to update the grades on a weekly basis
• I you find a red blank space for an assignment that
either means the student has not yet turned in the
assignment or was absent. Check back and the
blank should be filled in with a grade unless the
assignment was never received.
