• The U.S. Supreme Court is the highest court in the nation.
It holds the ultimate authority in making decisions on whether a law or presidential action is in agreement with the Constitution.
• The U.S. Supreme Court is mainly an appeals court. It reviews cases that have been tried in lower federal courts.
The decisions of the Supreme Court's nine justices cannot be appealed. Their decisions can have a dramatic impact on the nation.
