Best practices on www.funduszeonline.pl 6. Conclusions Structural funds for Poland The total Community funds allocated for Poland for years 2004 to 2006 amount to 12,81 billion euro. The total amount of funds (structural funds, Cohesion Fund, national funds, private funds) for the implementation of the structural policy in Poland in years 20042006 will reach app. 19,2 billion euro. Poland of the regions Big money allocated in the regions made them on the one hand more responsible for the development of their territories and on the other hand more self-oriented. Consequently the experience coming from the implementation of structural funds including success stories is very often hidden in the documents of the regional administrators. Problems in information transfer/exchange between regions We maintain daily monitoring of all 16 websites of Marshal Offices in Poland as well as the central website run by Ministry of Economy and Labour. In most cases they launched separate sections devoted to structural funds. Problems in information transfer/exchange between regions In most cases the information they deliver is patchy, and in most cases focused on generating publicity for the activities of the regional boards rather than on disseminating useful information for the current and future structural funds users. Importance of the information of best practices From our investigation both public administrations and private beneficiaries wish to tap into experience that has been gained in other regions. Providing clear cut examples on the types of projects that have succeeded elsewhere and how to apply for a grant, this project – in potential – will speed up investment and in the end will help to speed up economic growth.
