Course Descriptions:
This course is designed to be the student’s first high school science course
and is a college-prep biology course that provides a detailed introduction to
the methods and concepts of general biology. Heavily emphasizing the
vocabulary of biology, it provides the student with a strong background in
the scientific method, the five-kingdom classification scheme, microscopy,
biochemistry, cellular biology, molecular and Mendelian genetics, evolution,
dissection, and ecosystems. It also provides a complete survey of the five
kingdoms in Creation.

Course Description:
This course is designed to be a first-year high school chemistry course and
gives the student a rigorous foundation in chemistry, in order to prepare
him or her for a college-level course. The course covers significant figures,
units, classification, the mole concept, stoichiometry, thermochemistry,
thermodynamics, kinetics, acids and bases, redox reactions, solutions,
atomic structure, Lewis structures, molecular geometry, the gas laws, and
equilibrium.

Course Description:
This course is designed to be the last science course the student takes before high school biology. The text discusses such topics as the atmosphere, the
hydrosphere, weather, the structure of the earth, environmentalism, the physics of motion, Newton’s Laws, gravity, and astrophysics. There are many hands-on
experiments to do, and they all use household chemicals and supplies. It is an excellent course for preparing the student to take a college-prep high school science
curriculum.

Course Description:
Government is a required course for High School Graduation. The purpose of
this course is to introduce the fundamentals of American government and
politics, particularly the major institutions and processes. Further, it aims to
develop skills and abilities in analyzing and evaluating issues and public
policies in current American politics. On the one hand, this course wants to
stimulate interest in American politics and impart tools that can be of use to
all life-long students of politics.

Course Name: Economics (Spring Semester- 1 Credit)

Course Description:
Economics is a required course for High School Graduation. This course will
give the students a greater understanding of economics ranging from the
viewpoint of the individual consumer or small business owner to the global
economy. The course will study the law of supply and demand, forms of
business, labor unions, government finances and influence on the economy,
money and prices, inflation and deflation cycles.

Corse Description:
Students will learn to incorporate the writing tools used in the Institute for Excellence in Writing program. We will practice techniques that will help students
dress-up their writing as well as use more complicated sentence structures. Our writing topics will be geared around the strong character traits exhibited by
historical figures like Abraham Lincoln, Mother Theresa, St. Francis, etc.
