Define and explain what a good citizen is. 2. Give examples of good citizens in our local area, in the UK and in the world. What qualities do these good citizens have? 3. Analyse when, where and for whom you have shown good citizenship. 4. Define the word “Inspiration”. Evaluate who inspires you in life and why? In these lessons, we will explore a local event which demonstrates #cazfest2015lesson1 inspirational Citizenship Lesson 1: Good and inspiring citizens:) Aims: A knowledge, understanding and ďinspirational and evaluation of the moving Cazfest Story Learning episode 2: Analysis and Participation (20 minutes) • In groups of four decided by your teacher, create a colourful spider diagram or mind map showing: What do you know about Cazfest? 1 person can draw the Caz Fest logo (above) 1 person with their Teacher's consent can research from www.cazfest.com 1 person to be the scribe /writer 1 person to manage/encourage the team and report back to the Class Feedback (5 minutes) Add these to your mind map if you did not get them... * All day Summer Festival. * Proceeds pay for heart screening for Sixth Form students in Hertfordshire and Essex. * 12 children /young adults die each week from undiagnosed heart conditions. * This fundraising aims to ensure heart conditions are detected. The more fundraising, the more people can be checked out. More about the charity in a future lesson. The Family Festival 10 Colour and excitement 11 But why is this called Cazfest and why is the key colour pink? Cazfest was established in 2009 in memory of Caroline Johnstone (Caz). Pink was Caroline's favourite colour. Caroline was a 17 year old student of The Bishop's Stortford High School studying for her “A” levels who had hoped to go to Newcastle University to study English Language. On June 6th 2008, while with friends at a night club, she collapsed and despite the prompt attendance of the medical services was never able to Ll episode 1lllshe Preparation: regain consciousness. She died peacefully on June 12th 2008. Caroline's death touched so many people. Create a 90 second trailer about Cazfest. The best will be played on the day. 2. Design a beautiful poster or piece of art for Cazfest to display around your School. 3. Create your own Cazfest website or power point or year assembly for students at your School. 4. Write an appropriate, moving and respectful poem about Cazfest. The best will feature on the website. Keep in mind that this is a fun day but for a serious and moving cause. 5. Plan a Cazfest charity idea for your School. This could be something as simple as a pink cake stall or a wear it pink day. Please take pictures and keep the Cazfest Team informed.
