Think, pair, share • Primary Sources— Primary sources are firsthand historical materials that were • written or produced in the time period of a historical event. Secondary Sources—are materials made by people who were not eyewitnesses or participants in a historical event and who base their interpretation of the event on primary sources, research. Make a list of primary and secondary source examples • Primary Examples: pictures of an event, description made by a person • participating or witnessing an event, diaries, census records, birth certificates, receipts, photographs, ID cards, etc. Secondary Examples: textbooks, encyclopedia entries, history books and magazines, graphs and charts, etc. Due Wed/Thurs HW: Primary Source Proof of a Summer Adventure Think of something fun that you did this past summer.
