Home Learning is not a punishment. It is an important part of your development as a responsible learner. This responsibility should be taken seriously. We expect that all home learning will be completed and brought to school the next day. We do not assign any home learning that we do not think is important. Home learning assignments will be to practice important skills learned in class or to study notes for a test, or to work on a project at home. Checking home learning will be the opening activity of each class. If home learning is not brought in a “Missing Home Learning” notice will be sent home and must be signed attached to the completed assignment. If two notices are sent home during the same week the student will have a detention during a special area class. If three notices are sent home during the same week a parent conference will be scheduled. After three notices, the student will receive a “3” in effort on the report card. This will not allow the student to be on the Honor Roll. • Home Learning will be posted on my website at: https://scoobygang.wikispaces.com/ • Students will be responsible for printing a hardcopy and completing the assignments which must be brought to class the following day. • This will allow parents easy access to daily homework and classroom currents events. -Reading Plus and SuccessMaker: 30 minute sessions - 3 times per week. A grade will be given weekly for completing the assignments. Reading 1. SRA short reading selections 2. COLD READS– timed reading tests 3. Basal Readers - Anthologies of short stories 4. FCAT-Next Generation Reading, Science, and Math 5. “A.R.” – Students read a book, and then take a computer test. If they pass the test, they earn points and will be assigned a grade. Scoobygang Website: https://scoobygang.wikispaces.com/ Provides parents and students access to daily Home Learning and classroom information.
