Paper Towel Testing Lab Report
You will now type up your paper towel lab findings into a formal lab report. This lab report will
need to be typed and formatted similar to what you see below.
Question (1 point)
Which brand of paper towel will absorb the most water? (this is exactly what yours should look
like because everyone had the same question)
Knowledge Probe (4 points)
This is where you will describe what your paper towel looked like and felt like (your
observations). Which was the largest? Compare the area of each paper towel. Which was the
thickest? Did the paper towel have a texture or any designs? You will also tell what brands of
paper towel you were studying and how much they cost. What was the price per square
centimeter of your paper towel? This section should be at least one paragraph long.
Prediction (3 points)
You will write your hypothesis here. You can revise your wording from the 1 st draft, but you
cannot revise your prediction.
Investigation Plan (6 points)
This section should include a materials list and a procedure.

Explanation (4 points)
Your conclusion should be written in claim, evidence, reasoning format. In addition to
answering the question posed at the beginning of the lab, “Which type of paper towel will
absorb the most water?”, please include an analysis of what paper towel would be the best
value based on cost and absorbency. What type would you recommend your parents buy?
