This course is the third in a three-course series designed for all accounting and business majors. PREREQUISITE(S): ACCT& 202 TEXT: Accounting, 19th edition, Warren, Reeve, Fess, Southwestern Publishing. COURSE GOALS: The student will develop an understanding of and obtain entry level skills in order to account for the following: managerial accounting concepts, working with job order and process cost accounting systems, cost-volume-profit analysis, budgeting, standard costs and variances, performance analysis for decentralized operations, differential analysis, product pricing, and capital investment analysis. COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: 1. Understand the concepts and principles of managerial accounting. 2. Understand and work with job order and process cost accounting systems. 3. Understand cost-volume-profit analysis, prepare related graphs, and solve related formulas and equations. 4. Understand budgeting for the future and be able to prepare budgets at different volumes. 5. Understand the principles of standard costs and be able to compute variances from standard costs. 6.
