Students will practice listening skills as they complete a gap exercise with the song “Kann es wirklich liebe sein” from Der König der Löwen. *Students will listen to the song “Kann es wirklich liebe sein” twice through and complete a gap exercise. *After completing, we will discuss the meaning of some of the words and how things change a little bit in translation from the English version. Students will watch the first section of the film, Der König der Löwen. Students will prepare for their first poem recitation. Students will recite the first section of the poem Die Lorelei. *Students will begin the film, answering questions in the packet throughout. We will also pause and discuss certain items during the film. *Check completion of yesterday’s packet section. *We will then review a few of the questions and clarify anything they didn’t understand. *We will then review the section of their poem that is due tomorrow. *I will then check the students’ vocabulary and take a grade. POEM DUE TOMORROW! *We will first review the poem by repeating it a few times together. *I will then hand out the quiz they are to begin working on when not reciting their poem. 10.4.3, 10.4.5 10.3.1 *Go through vocab together – for each question (1-6), students are to write an appropriate response; for the others, just the English *Review Alphabet *Spelling Quiz *Students will then complete a quiz over the Composers from last week COMPLETE SECTION 1 of PACKET Assignment/Homework Closure Wednesday Finish by explaining the plans for the week and remind students that their poem is due Friday.
