TEXTBOOK AND OTHER MATERIALS
The textbook package (ISBN 9780558834302) will be available in the TCC
Northeast Campus Bookstore (595-7425) in the section for online courses. The
same package may also be used for some on- campus sections at other
campuses. You can also order online from the TCC online bookstore and have
the books shipped to you.
The package includes two items:
1. Essentials of Statistics by Mario F. Triola, 4th edition, Addison, Wesley.
2. MyStatLab(MyMathLab) Student access code
Other Statistics sections at Northeast use other book packages so make sure
you get the package for section 390. It is very important that you have the whole
package and not just the textbook. We will be using MyStatLab for homework,
tutorials, and as the main platform for our course website.
Our course website will be hosted through CourseCompass instead of on the
TCC Blackboard site. For those of you using Blackboard for other courses, there
is a link on your Elementary Statistics page that will take you to CourseCompass.
Otherwise you may go directly there at http://www.coursecompass.com
You will navigate our course site just like you would a Blackboard site.
The first time you register at coursecompass.com, you will need to have your
Student Access code (from your textbook package) and a Course ID number
which is bellovich30537
You will need to have an appropriate word processing program to be able to turn
in projects for this course. You will need to use Microsoft Word 97 or above.
Microsoft Works will not work. If you do not have Word, please check the
Distance Learning web site for information about downloading a free word
processing program called Open Office that will work.

MAKE-UP POLICY
It is very important to keep on schedule in this course.
Homework questions are automatically graded in MyStatLab as they are
completed. Each homework assignment has a due date assigned (you can see
these on the course calendar as well as online). Any homework questions that
are answered after the posted due date will only be worth 50% credit. At the
end of the semester, I will drop the lowest five (5) homework grades and average
the remaining grades. This average will be counted out of 200 points.
Projects will also be given with due dates.
Projects that are turned in late will have points deducted at a rate of 1 point
per day, up to half the credit of the assignment.
The three exams must be taken by their announced deadlines. You will have a
window of at least 5 days in which to complete these exams. The first exam will
be given around the 5th week of class, the second exam around the 10th
week, and the final exam will be given in the 16th week of class. Exact dates are
given on the course schedule. Contact your instructor if you need to take an
exam early. No late make-up exams are given.
TESTING LOCATIONS AND TUTORING HELP
All the work in this course can be done from your home computer except the
three Exams. These exams will be password protected and must be taken in a
proctored location. There are testing locations on each of the four TCC
campuses. Please use whichever one is most convenient for you. If you live
out of town and cannot come to Tulsa for these three exams please notify
your instructor at the beginning of the semester so that arrangements can
be made for another proctored exam site.

to the course. Contact the Advisement Office at any TCC campus to initiate
withdrawal from a course ('W' grade) or to change from Credit to Audit.
