REF:
VRS class registrations, paperwork and attendance.
It has significantly become more difficult to manage the registrations and classes for VRS, as
more and more companies seemingly turn their recruits loose to fend for themselves. This is
unfair in so many ways, but ultimately explains the deficiencies in retention or the recruitment
process.
Unfortunately it have become necessary to strictly enforce the current rules. Below are several
of the highlights of those. All information pertaining to the VRS registration can be found on the
front page of the fire commission website, which is located at www.firecommission.com.
1.
If student is not registered they will NOT be accepted into class. There are NO walk
in’s.
2. If student does not have a printed copy of the IS 100 and IS 700 to turn in the first night
of class, they will NOT be accepted in to class.
3. If student does not have reciprocity/equivalency approved by the Commission and
paperwork to turn in on Tuesday night of Infection Control, they will not be submitted
any paperwork at the end of the class.
4. If student is late, they will not be accepted into class. Class starts at 1900 hours sharp,
walking in at 1930 does not cut it.
5. Students Must attend all required classes dependent upon full or infection control
registration.

6. CPR is for VRS students only on the Wednesday night session. CPR is run by Bowie, for
the Commissions VRS students. It is not a refresher class. Do not have your personnel
call or attempt to register for CPR only.
7. All required paperwork, as per the instructors, to be collected on Friday of the test must
be turned in at that time.
8. Students should have the printed confirmation for registration in their hand for the first
night of class. However, what is registered on the list will prevail.
