Set aside time to read everyday!
 15-30 minutes is all it takes!
 To keep track of reading, tally it on your calendar!

Visit the library
 Help your child find books (Just Right Books)
 Let their interests guide book selections

Every kind of reading counts!
 Students can read independently
 Read to your child
 Have your child read to you
 Read for real purposes
▪ Read a recipe as you bake
▪ Read the shopping list
▪ Read directions
▪ Read print when you are out and about (ex. store signs)



and measure with your guidance

and do all the writing

figure out how much change you will get back

