Sin of the heart means allowing your desire rather than God's commandments to direct you. A. We have to own our sin. B We each have a own particular types of sin. James 1:15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. When we dwell on desire, yielding is only a matter of time. Genesis 3:6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. At the heart of ever temptation is the question, Can God be trusted? With every temptation: A. There is always more at stake then we think. B. Your ability to withstand temptation, is based alot on your confidence in God. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Romans 2:4 4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance?
