In lesson 5-5, you wrote
percents like 32% as fractions by
writing fractions with
denominators of 100 and then
simplifying. You can use the
same method to write percents
like 16.8% and 8 1/3 % as
fractions.
What you really need to know!
1.Divide by 100 to
remove a % sign.
2.Multiply by 100 to
attach a % sign.
Example 1:
In a recent poll, 41.8% of the
people surveyed said they
gained nutrition knowledge
from family and friends.
What fraction is this? Write
in simplest form.
