What To Say

Slide 1: Airplanes
 Airplanes
Slide 2: Airplanes
 Since their invention in 1903 airplanes have changed our lives tremendously.
Airplanes have changed during the past years, especially in the first and second
world wars. In the First World War, they developed the airplane to make it big and
heavy to carry large bombs and weapons. In the Second World War they made jet
airplanes which we use today. Then airplanes started becoming used for transport.
So as you can see, through time, airplanes have changed.
Slide 3: Inventors
 Orville and Wilbur Wright (also known as the Wright Brothers) created the first
airplane (a biplane), named the Flyer, and had a successful flight in December 1903.
They requested a patent application for a "flying machine" nine months before the
flight. The aircraft traveled 120 feet, and landed 12 seconds after takeoff. After
making two longer flights that day, Orville and Wilbur Wright sent a telegram to
their father, telling him to "inform press". They had been working to make an
airplane since 1899, but all tries had failed until 1903.
Slide 4: Transport

Airplanes are the fastest means of transport, especially when you’re going large
distances. A trip from Qatar to any place in America could take days by coach. By
airplane it would only take some hours. This shows that airplanes are fast. The pilot
or autopilot will take you to where you want to go, so all you have to do is it and
relax. This is the best and most important advantage of an airplane.
Slide 5: Social

With airplanes you can travel to your friends who live in different countries and
socialize with them. Or you can make new friends. You can meet your relatives,
aunties, uncles, and other people who live in far away countries.
Slide 6; Money

Booking tickets for an airplane costs lots of money which is a disadvantage for the
passengers but an advantage for the people who are gaining the money. Now, we
have auto-pilots for some planes, this saves a lot of money hiring pilots (which are
expensive). Also, if the plane crashes, this would be very expensive. This could be
made even worse if it lands in a populated area. The price would be very high, as a
new plane would be needed. So this is an advantage and disadvantage.
Slide 7: Army/Fight/War

Airplanes can be used in wars, fights, and in the army. They were used in World
War I and World War II for fighting which is both an advantage and disadvantage
for planes. They developed the planes in that time but many lives were lost. Planes
can carry bombs and other fighting gear to use on the target. It is also fast so
good at dodging and shooting attacks with.
Slide 8: Pollution

Airplanes leave lots of air pollution in the air which causes global warming. Airplane
exhausts leave trails of carbon dioxide behind them, as seen in this picture. This is
air pollution which is damaging our Earth and causing global warming, this changes
the climate of the Earth and causes flooding. This is the biggest disadvantage of
airplanes.
Slide 9: Crashing/Sickness

Once the airplane is in the air it is very difficult to have full control over it and,
thus many bad things, such as death or injury can occur. Crashing is a big
disadvantage as people lose their lives or get severe injuries. Some people get
altitude sickness while up in a plane. Altitude sickness causes low oxygen in the
blood which causes difficulty in breathing and mental confusion in people.
Slide 10: Conclusion

In conclusion, I think airplanes are very useful. They help us travel to different,
faraway places in less time, and we can socialize easily with our friends or relatives
who live in different countries. However, they cost a lot of money and can cause
death. Also, you could lose your baggage which may have valuable items in it.
Overall, I think airplanes are great to use, but we should be careful.
