Helpful Websites for Algebra 1
My website has a list of sites to help with algebra (access
from bhspnj.org)
www.connected.mcgraw-hill.com: Video tutorials, practice
quizzes, tests
There are also MANY free apps to help with any math topic.
We will use Khan Academy frequently
Absence
Work needs to be made up in a timely manner for credit
and to help with understanding the following lessons
Missed assignments can be found on the Classroom
stream
Missed lessons can be found in the textbook and on the
textbook websites
iPads
Students are expected to have their iPads in class and
charged every day
While in class, students are expected to only use iPads for
math work (online text, checking blog, math apps, class
investigations)
Taking notes and doing homework on the iPad are not
recommended in my math classes
Calculators
Calculators will be used in Algebra 1 after the first quiz
We will use TI-84
Students are NOT required to bring a calculator
If students bring calculators, they should be labeled
A recommended calculator to take the student through senior year and
standardized tests is TI-84...Ebay, Walmart, Staples, Target...
