Course Description:
This course examines the major Ethical Systems from Natural Law to Relativism, Ethical Issues
from Euthanasia to War, Aesthetics namely the appreciation and interpretation of the form and
content of Music and Film, and Apologetics the art and science of “defending” the faith.
Course Objectives:
The student who successfully completes this course should be able to:
 Know the various forms of ethical systems
 Analyze the major ethical issues in history and today
 Demonstrate an appreciation and evaluation of the arts, particularly music and film
 Demonstrate knowledge of a holistic Christian worldview
 Know the definition, history and types of apologetics
 Apply the art and science of apologetics to various issues/questions
 Know how to develop and cultivate true Christian spirituality after high school
Course Requirements & Resources:
 Supplies: Two inch, three ring, white binder with front and side slipcover, notebook
paper and 15 tabs (Fall & Spring Semester)
 The Holy Bible (New International Version: NIV)

Grading:





50% - Major Assessments (Tests, Papers, & Binder)
30% - Minor Assessments (Memory Verse Quizzes & Daily Assignments)
20% - Class Participation (Class Discussions, Notes & Behavior)
20/50/0 - Penalty per day on all assignments turned in late due unless excused
1%-10% - Extra credit
