Center for Information and Decision Support(IDSC)
• IDSC is a main Think Tank in Egypt, particularly for the Cabinet. Its
main task is to support decision makers with regard to economic,
social and political issues
• IDSC strives to enhance relations with different ministries and
government authorities, and to open communication channels with
the public to measure the society’s attitudes towards national issues.
• IDSC disseminates data and information, focusing on electronic
dissemination.
• IDSC has significantly contributed to crystallizing the opinions and
concepts that have an impact on the Egyptian government’s foreign
and national policies through publishing various research, covering
diversified themes, as well as books and working papers. Besides,
periodicals and public opinion polls are prepared. It also organizes
seminars, conferences, workshops and training programs.

The Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (ECES)
• The Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (ECES) is
an independent, non-profit think tank. The mission
of the Center is to promote economic development
in Egypt by conducting and disseminating applied
policy research. The aim is to develop viable policy
options in light of international experience. The
Center’s activities are carried out in the spirit of
public interest.

American University in Cairo: Center for Social
Studies Research(SRC)
• SRC was established in 1953. Over the last five decades, the SRC has
been committed to carrying out multidisciplinary research on a
broad range of subjects, engaging in capacity building of students
and researchers in Egypt and the region, and striving to reach its
aims and goals.
• The centre strives to inform policy formulation and implementation
while contributing to knowledge in the social sciences. It aims to
contribute to developing skills and building institutional capacity in
the region, as well as to advancing public debate about important
issues.

region as the leading multidisciplinary social research center

Institute for African Studies and Research
Cairo University
• Executing studies that support the Egyptian belongingness to Africa, assert
its relations with all nations, carry out its interest through the continent and
document the studies via field truth. A special attention is directed to
neighboring countries in the Nile basin and the Horn of Africa for asserting
the Egyptian cultural role in the African continent.
• Rising graduates and researchers specialized in African affaires and other
scientific fields with high ability of competitiveness.
• Strengthening the Egyptian/African relation on scientific bases throughout
cultural and training programs for the African scholars who study in Egypt
and the scientific cooperation agreements with equivalent scientific

Regional Center for Renewable Energy and
Energy Efficiency (RCREEE)
RCREEE is an independent regional think tank
based in Cairo which is dedicated to the
promotion of renewable energies (RE) and
energy efficiency (EE). RCREEE formulates and
disseminates policies in support of RE and EE
and provides a platform for the regional
exchange on policy issues and technological
questions.

International Center for Future and Strategic Studies
This think tank provides analysis of information
and estimated future visions for present
problems and issues expected in the future to
serve the Egyptian civilization project.

Economic Research Forum (ERF)
• The Economic Research Forum (ERF) is a regional network dedicated
to promoting high quality economic research to contribute to
sustainable development in the Arab countries, Iran and Turkey.
• Established in 1993, ERF’s core objectives are to build strong research
capacity in the ERF region; to lead and support the production of
independent, high quality economic research; and to disseminate
research output to a wide and diverse audience.
• ERF carries out a portfolio of activities including mobilizing funds for
well conceived proposals;
• Organizing seminars and conferences and publishing research output
through working papers, books, policy briefs and a newsletter –
Forum.
• The ERF network comprises a distinguished Board of Trustees (BOT),
accomplished researchers from the region and highly dedicated
head-office staff. A not-for-profit organization, the Forum is
supported by multiple donors, both regional and international.

Cairo Demographic Center (CDC)
• CDC was established in 1963 according to an agreement
between the Egyptian Government and the UN.
• CDC provides training at various academic levels to persons
working in the field of Population in the countries of the
Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
• CDC conducts training programs and offers General Diploma
in Demography, Special Diploma in Population and
Development as well as MPhil degree in Demography. CDC
organizes intensive programs, symposiums, and workshops on
Demography, Statistics, and Computer. Research Monographs,
Working Papers, Occasional Papers, Population &
Development Series, UN Translated Series, and Newsletters
are regularly published by CDC.

An independent, non-commercial institution
devoted to advancing kwowledge on contemporary
Egypt, and Arab countries, through research in the
social sciences, with emphasis on human
development.
• Ibn Khaldoun Center for Democratic Studies
(EICDS)
The main objective of the Center is to advance
applied social sciences relating to Egypt, the Arab
World and the Third World. The center is
particularly engaged in issues of democratization
and civil society.
