Having a single parent mother played such a big part in shaping my dreams and aspirations because I was forced to strive even harder than the next person because I refused to become another statistic. By striving harder, I have proven to myself and to others that, regardless of any shortcomings or obstacles that may stand in my way, I can and will achieve and reach whatever I put my mind and heart into doing. Of all the ways you could succeed in your life, why have you chosen to succeed in the Miss America Pageant? I believe God gave me an innate ability to lead others. The Miss America Organization gives me the ability to be a role model and to serve and to lead others just as I was destined to do. This organization stands above the rest, and, as a part of the Miss America Organization, I will be able to help develop the future leaders of tomorrow. What social issue, other than your platform, will have the greatest impact on your generation and why? Social media will have the greatest impact on my generation because it is constantly changing and developing. Through all the various forms of social media now available to us, we have more knowledge and information than any former generation. We have the world at our fingertips and the power to do what we want with it – positively or negatively.
