Usage of vehicles has increased drastically will reduces the human effort to reach destination with in a specified time. But it also has the negative effects on Environment and health. Normally Automobiles work with the combustion engine which uses petrol/diesel etc to run the particular vehicle. The combustion engine produces the toxic gas after the ignition process and that toxic gas is CO. CO is very harmful to the human health, atmosphere and results in global warming. Some of the effects and properties of CO are... In this project we are going to design a prototype which detects the amount of CO in the vehicle. When the amount of the CO is reached to a threshold limit (Dangerous/maximum) it automatically turns off the combustion engine of the vehicle with buzzer indication and simultaneously with a LED indication. The project is implemented with AT89S52 MCU. It indicates the presence of carbon monoxide leakage .The components which we are going to use in this project are CO Sensor, relay unit, ignition unit (DC motor). When the CO concentration is high then Relay circuit will be activated which in turn turns ON music generator and at the same time vehicle (DC Motor) turns OFF automatically.
