About the College
Age cannot wither Nagarjuna Government
College (A), nor custom stale its infinite
variety.. The Government of Andhra Pradesh
took this college into its fold in October 1958
and there have never been instances of
looking back since then. And it has been
growing from strength to strength as the
years rolled on serving the educational needs
of this backward district of the Telangana
region and today it has as many as 3995
students on the rolls.
The college has now become a 70 -year-old
'College with Potential for Excellence' The
college was accredited by the NAAC with B++
grade in 2004. And in the year 2007 it was
conferred with the status of autonomy. The
college was accredited by the NAAC with A
grade in 2012. Accredited B grade by
NAAC(3rd Cycle) in 2021
Striving to be an agent of social change, the
college trains young men and women of
quality to be leaders in all walks of life so that
they may serve the people of the nation in
truth, justice, and love. The college has
produced many writers, teachers, thinkers,
activists, scientists, government officials,
actors, directors, and politicians.
About the Department of Political Science
The Department of Political Science has been
in existence in the college ever since its
inception in 1956 and has been playing a
magnificent role in the educational activity in
the region. It is a matter of pride to state that
a
well
acknowledged
monumental
educational, none other than Prof G Ram
Reddy who worked as the VC of both
Osmania University and Indira Gandhi Open
University, and also as the Chairman of the
UGC was a faculty member of this
department in the early years of his career.
The department has 4 sanctioned posts
with a weekly work load of 88 hours. After
the N.G.College turned in to Autonomous
in 2007 - 08. The Department of political
science designed syllabus taking the
changing needs of the day and students
into consideration. The members of the
department have voluminous experience
to their credit imparting quality education
to students. They keep themselves
updated about the changing aspects of
political science at the regional, National
and International levels.
About the Workshop:
The new National Education Policy-2020
(NEP) envisions India regaining the coveted
position of global dominance. It enables
higher education institutions to develop a
system that directly contributes to the
country’s transformation into a global
knowledge superpower. To enlighten and
explore concepts & careers in the sphere of
NEP 2020, Nagarjuna Government
College(A) is organized this One-day
Workshop.
The NEP 2020 has been embraced by the
masses in recent times and attracted a
wide learned audience to the seminar. NEP
2020 strives for an inclusive and equitable
educational system and introduces broadbased, multi-disciplinary, holistic education
at the higher education level through
flexible
curricula,
creative
subject
combinations, integration of vocational
education, and multiple entry and exit
points with appropriate certification.
