• Famous people who were born in the year 1965 include English actresses Sadie
Frost and Elizabeth Hurley, and Saul Hudson popularly known as 'Slush', a
member of the legendary rock band, Guns N' Roses. Other celebrities born
during this year are Charlie Sheen, Brad Pitt and Brandon Lee. J K Rowling,
British author of the Harry Potter fantasy series, and musician Shania Twain, also
celebrate their birthdays during this year.
• Mashed Potato, the Fly, the Penguin, the Monkey, the
Swim and the Funky Chicken. The simplicity of The Twist
dance made it popular with all ages. The movement was
simple: place one foot forward and twist it back and
forth while rotating your hips from side to side.
Let's get the boring stuff over first. The teen clothing at left and below is
how we actually dressed for school in the Sixties. Over the course of the
decade, the hemlines would shorten a little, a very little to just above the
knee. We had a Dean of Girls who was relentless about skirt length. If you
knelt and your skirt didn't touch the ground, she'd fix that. She'd cut the
hem out, making it longer. If that wasn't sufficient for decency, you were
sent home. No pants or shorts allowed in school. And I don't know what
awful thing would have happened to you if you dared to wear jeans. Okay,
today that behavior would get her arrested, but the simple truth was that
high school in the 1960s was conservative. On Fridays we wore our school
colors. Blue skirts, white blouses for girls; blue slacks, white shirts for guys.
• Long hair was swept to one side and secured with a band or a
ribbon. Perhaps a swatch of hair or a clip in hair extensions.

Robert E. Hogan. The series is also remembered for the bumbling Sergeant Schultz who used the quote "I know nothing –
nothing !" in order to avoid being blamed. Series ran from 1965 till 1971.

Kuryakin played by David McCallum fighting against the evil empire of THRUSH who's main objective was to

• On September 8, 1965, Filipino American grape workers, members of
the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee, walked out on strike
against Delano-area table and wine grape growers protesting years of
poor pay and conditions. The Filipinos asked Cesar Chavez, who led a
mostly Latino farm workers union, the National Farm Workers
Association, to join their strike.
• Cesar and the leaders of the NFWA believed it would be years before
their fledgling union was ready for a strike. But he also knew how
growers historically pitted one race against another to break field
walkouts. Cesar’s union voted to join the Filipino workers’ walkouts on
Mexican Independence Day, September 16, 1965. From the beginning
this would be a different kind of strike.
