The clinical team consists of specialist behavioural nursing, psychiatry, psychology, speech and language therapy, and occupational therapy. Requests for occupational therapy involvement tend to relate to physical difficulties (e.g. moving and handling, bathing assessments, & eating assessments); sensory deficits; activity engagement; & skills assessment and development. Psychosocial work is also available for clients who also have mental health issues. Requests can be for individuals or groups of residents on a unit. From a wider perspective the role also involves supporting the development of activity services (‘24/7’); developing a corporate strategy that focuses on productivity and employment.
