THE MAGICIAN
The Magician balloon is when I believe and act like problems and
challenges have suddenly disappeared and no longer are an issue in my
life.
Alakazam…poof! Gone!
HARD WORK
A strong person with Character & Heart knows that problems do not ever
just magically go away and disappear by themselves! It takes HARD
WORK and a lot of thinking and searching to understand why things
happen and how to avoid the same problem in the future.

ASSUMING
The Assuming balloon is when I
- jump to a conclusion; or
- take something for granted; or
- blindly accept something to be true without taking time to check it out first.
Assuming is very easy and one of the most often lifted balloons by people
who are weak since it requires no effort or action on their part whatsoever.
DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK
A strong person with Character & Heart will respond to a situation only after
they know they have accurate and complete information and have checked it
our first! They are able to maintain an open mind and be receptive to
information that may be contrary to what they first may have believed. If you
don’t know first hand – then do your own homework!

Tearing Off Labels
Showing Others Who I Can Be

Four steps to tearing off my labels:
Permission to brag:
1. STOP living up to my negative labels and prove them wrong!
• What do I like about
myself?
• Why is it EASY to prove my negative labels true?
• What have I done in the past to prove my negative labels true?
• What do others like
about me?
• Why is it HARD to express and stay focused on “The Real Me.”
• My accomplishments?
• My strengths, goals
and dreams?
2. REMEMBER the pay offs.
• What have my negative labels paid me in the past?
• What will “The Real Me” pay me in the future?
1
What is a label?
3. DECIDE that my negative labels are from the
past! Today I choose to keep them on or
start tearing them off!
• What would be different if I woke up tomorrow and my
negative labels were suddenly gone?
4. FLEX “The Real Me” and make it stand out so
much that the negative label must be torn off.
• What new observable behaviors will I do to show I
am better than my negative labels?
• How can I prove “The Real Me” is true?
• If I were to give myself
a label, what would it
be? (Must be positive.)

Derek Redmond
The Rest of The Story …
Since 1992, Derek has arguably become the most
famous Olympian to ever finish last in an Olympic
race. He has used his experiences as an Olympic
athlete to build an established career as a
motivational speaker, passing on messages of
perseverance, teamwork and self-belief to
business professionals as well as school children.
His Olympic story has been used by coaches,
referenced in books and Jim said it has even
been the focal point of religious sermons

Get Back Up
What do you think the author is trying to communicate in these lyrics:
“Most bars I find are in a state of mind, not just
the kind behind upstate time.”

Get Back Up
The main message of this song’s chorus is saying … what?
“You’re not disqualified so don’t back down.
You can run the race so get up right now.
It doesn’t even matter who is laughin’ in the crowd.
Get back up and you can still get your crown.”
