To determine the grade earned for each quarter, a student will add up the total points he or she earned for a grading period. Then, divide this total by the total possible points that were available to be earned. This percentage will be the recorded grade the student will have earned for the grading period, and it will correlate to letter grades that are based on the current Mathews High School grade scale. Assignments submitted after the assigned due date will have a late penalty deduction from the earned grade. (see section IDed as “Missed Tests or Assignments” for details) For all assigned work to be printed, typed, or handwritten, the following must be in the top right corner of each assignment or up to 5 points will be reduced from your earned grade: date of assignment, your name, name of course, and name of assignment.
