commanded Hilkiah the high
priest, and the priests of the
second order, and the keepers of
the door, to bring forth out of the
temple of the LORD all the vessels
that were made for Baal, and for
the grove, and for all the host of
heaven: and he burned them
without Jerusalem in the fields
of Kidron, and carried the ashes
of them unto Bethel.”
2 Kings 23:6 – “And he brought
out the grove from the house
of the LORD, without
Jerusalem, unto the brook
Kidron, and burned it at the
brook Kidron, and stamped it
small to powder, and cast the
powder thereof upon the
graves of the children of the
people.”
2 Kings 23:12 - “And the altars
that were on the top of the
upper chamber of Ahaz, which
the kings of Judah had made,
and the altars which Manasseh

them down from thence, and
cast the dust of them into the

• Its contents would have be
BLOOD
• The 1st century historian
Josephus records that during
one Passover, over 250,000
sacrifices were offered in
the temple in Jerusalem.
• The blood of those animals
would have been channeled
beyond the walls into the
brook
• The brook would have been
flowing with a river of
BLOOD.
What would’ve went through his
mind as he look down?
(Gen 3:21) Unto Adam
also and to his wife did
the LORD God make
coats of skins, and
clothed them.
(Gen 22:8) And Abraham
said, My son, God will
provide himself a lamb for a
burnt offering: so they went
both of them together.
(Exo 12:3) Speak ye unto all the
congregation of Israel, saying, In
the tenth day of this month they
shall take to them every man a
lamb, according to the house of
their fathers, a lamb for an house:

Leviticus 16:7-8 –
“And he shall take
the two goats, and
present them before
the LORD at the
door of the
tabernacle of the
congregation. And
Aaron shall cast lots
upon the two goats;
one lot for the
LORD, and the
other lot for the
scapegoat.”
(Lev 16:21-22) And Aaron shall lay
both his hands upon the head of the
live goat, and confess over him all
the iniquities of the children of
Israel, and all their transgressions in
all their sins, putting them upon the
head of the goat, and shall send
him away by the hand of a fit man
into the wilderness: And the goat
shall bear upon him all their
iniquities unto a land not inhabited:
and he shall let go the goat in the
wilderness.
(Isa 53:6) All we like
sheep have gone astray;
we have turned every one
to his own way; and the
LORD hath laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
(2Co 5:21) For he hath made him to be sin for us,
who knew no sin; that we might be made the
righteousness of God in him.

“removed and gone away goat”
(Psa 103:12) As far as
the east is from the
west, so far hath he
removed our
transgressions from
us.

Mount of Olives
1st mention 2nd Sam. 17
David, the rejected king, leaves
Jerusalem, and with his faithful
men he crosses the Brook
Kidron and goes weeping up to
the mount.
 Meanwhile, his former friend
and counselor Ahithophel
betrays him to Absalom and
soon hangs himself.
(2Sa 17:1-2) Moreover Ahithophel said
unto Absalom, Let me now choose out
twelve thousand men, and I will arise
and pursue after David this night:
And I will come upon him while he is
weary and weak handed, and will
make him afraid: and all the people that
are with him shall flee; and I will smite
the king only:
(2Sa 17:23) And when Ahithophel
saw that his counsel was not
followed, he saddled his ass, and
arose, and gat him home to his
house, to his city, and put his
household in order, and hanged
himself, and died, and was buried
in the sepulchre of his father.

Israel, that
they bring

(Isa 53:3-5) He is despised and
rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and
acquainted with grief: and we hid as it
were our faces from him; he was
despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and
carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem
him stricken, smitten of God, and
afflicted. But he was wounded for
our transgressions, he was bruised
for our iniquities: the chastisement of
our peace was upon him; and with his
stripes we are healed.

blood falling down to the ground.
(Mar 14:34-35) And saith unto them,
My soul is exceeding sorrowful
unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.
And he went forward a little, and fell
on the ground, and prayed that, if it
were possible, the hour might pass
from him.

heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up
from you into heaven, shall so come in like
manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.

Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.”
Zechariah 14:4 – “And His

upon the mount of Olives,
which is before Jerusalem
on the east, and the mount
of Olives shall cleave in the

pierced his side,
and forthwith
came there out
blood and water.
