Poems, Jokes, & Riddles
Students work through a poetry book to create and learn about poetry!

Word Center
Students work on word building, word chunks, and patterns, through
games, word building sheets, etc.

Math
Students use hands and manipulative activities to reinforce skills taught in
math large group lessons.

Listening Center
Students listen to story tapes, and CDs and complete activities to
reinforce basal reading skills.

Reading
Students practice stories and read the story onto their own reading tape
as a way to practice reading fluency.

Computer
Students are assigned computer games to enhance technology skills as
well as practice & review skills learned prior.
Additional Information
 Book Orders will be sent
home several times a
year.
 Please assist your child
in reading one book per
night.
 Please study weekly
spelling word lists with
your child.
 Please feel free to call
me if your have any
questions throughout
the year!
