Test

Chapter 26 Test –Scantron or hand grade (up to you)
o Essay on this test is easy (mostly a summary of Evolution) so I would not give them the
essay ahead of time.
o I would probably allow corrections on this test, but if grades are really good I might not
just because of all of the extra credit available this semester.
 If you do allow corrections:
 Short timeframe for corrections (kids are either interested in learning
from their mistakes or they are not and the less time tests are floating
around the better)
 REMIND THEM ONCE AGAIN OF THE FOLLOWING:
o Corrections must be on a separate sheet
o Explain why all the wrong answers are wrong and right answer is
right for credit
o Make sure all tests are accounted for at the end NO
EXCEPTIONS
Grading
 19 pts test (multiple choice 9pts , essay 10 pts)
 14 pts homework (5pts for Journey to Past and Guided Reading, 2 pts for Radioactive Lab and
fossil lab)
 Extra Credit = 500 words for 2pts (email so I have word count)
Suggested Timeline
 Day 1 (Block would be nice) – Ch 26 PPT then start Journey to the Past
o Day 1 (A-day) – Just CH 26 PPT
 Day 2 – Journey to the Past Work time (total work time of 1.5 blocks to 2 blocks) These take
time to research and do well.



Day 3 – Finish Journey and do Radioactive decay lab
Day 4 – Finish up everything and study time?
Day 5 – Chapter 26 Test (short test) Then show “What Darwin Never Knew”
