YES WORK SITES NEEDED: On June 13th and 14th teens from St. George Deanery are volunteering to help people throughout Putnam County with various jobs around their homes as they participate in the annual Youth Elect Service weekend retreat. THE FEAST DAY OF Our Lady of Consolation will be celebrated at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey on the weekend of May 24 & 25. A novena of Masses began on May 16. On Saturday, May 24, Father Charles Ritter will celebrate the 5:30pm Mass and Entrust the Diocese of Toledo to the care of Our Lady. On Sunday, May 25, regular Masses for the feast will be celebrated at 8 & 10am. The 12 noon Mass will be celebrated in Italian and English by the Very Rev. David Ross, V.F. Outdoor Rosary Procession and Shrine Devotions will take place at 2:30pm and include prayers for healing. Since halls are being rented frequently please restore them to their original condition. PRAYER VIGIL FOR CLOSURE of Toledo Abortion Center. Join us in prayer as we storm heaven for a ruling in favor of life and for an end to abortion in our city and world. We will meet Saturday, May 24, 11am-noon on the sidewalk outside Capital Care abortion center (1160 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo). The training will take place at the Putnam County Home Care and Hospice office, Ottawa. Hospice volunteers offer companionship to patients, respite to caregivers, assistance with administrative tasks, as well as assistance with special events and fundraising projects. Following training, volunteers can choose their area of involvement. Putnam County Hospice is looking for volunteers in all areas, but is especially in need of licensed massage therapists and individuals with musical talent willing to join the volunteer team.
