A woman undergoing cancer treatment may lose her hair or suffer other appearance-related side effects making a difficult time even harder. Specially trained volunteer beauty consultants work with women to learn about makeup, skin &nail care and ways to deal with hair loss. Each woman receives a free makeup kit and shares laughter with others going through the cancer journey. PUTNAM COUNTY HOSPICE will offer training for prospective volunteers beginning in September. The training will take place at the Putnam County Home Care and Hospice office, Ottawa. Hospice volunteers offer companionship to patients, respite to caregivers, assistance with administrative tasks, as well as assistance with special events and fundraising projects. Following training, volunteers can choose their area of involvement. Putnam County Hospice is looking for volunteers in all areas, but is especially in need of licensed massage therapists and individuals with musical talent willing to join the volunteer team.
