We will achieve this as a cooperative group utilizing new vocabulary and verb tenses that will better prepare you to exist and survive in the Spanish and Latin American world. We are here to learn how to communicate with others through another language, this takes trust and a fun, comfortable environment. Each chapter or CAPITULO will have a vocabulary quiz, grammar quiz, and chapter test. Each vocabulary quiz will occur between days 2 & 3 of the chapter, and each grammar quiz will occur between days 3 & 4. The Chapter test will usually occur once a week. There will also be 2 cultural projects due during the semester. POLICIES AND PROCEDURES Classroom Expectations: -RESPECT Yourself and your classmates, we do not laugh at each other we laugh with each other -Social Contract if you want to be heard you must participate. -My expectations of you as a student are high which is why I am a H-elpful –available every morning before school nb and also afterschool when the volleyball season is over. A-ttentive- I understand things are not easy the first time or the same way for all students. R-easonable- with the things I will ask you to do and achieve in the time limits I set. D-emanding- that you show up not just physically but mentally, and that if you at least try you will succeed. Teacher. Grading Policies: Grading will be a combination of daily work, group and individual projects, quizzes, and tests. The daily work, games and projects are the hands on practice that will allow you to possess the information long term. This will in turn lead to equal or higher success on quizzes and tests. Tests/Quizzes: 60% Projects: 30% Classwork/Homework: 10% Retake Policies: Retakes for tests and quizzes may be taken once a student has conducted at least one remediation session with Mr. Gordon. Quizzes: can be retaken as many times as needed up until the chapter test. Chapter tests: can be retaken only once and must be taken within 2 weeks of the original test.
