To demonstrate the learning you gained from
your research, you will be presenting your
research information in front of the class
through an oral presentation.
•Show understanding through detailed
explanation and examples
•Target length (5 minutes)
Oral Presentation
Your Oral presentation is a way to TEACH us by describing
and explaining your topic. It is NOT a simple reading of your
research paper!
Helpful Hints:
•Use your outline as a guide to the order of your presentation
•Write out your outline on note cards along with any specific details that may be
hard to remember
•Plan when you are going to show and explain your visual aid
•Let me know which props or technology you will need
•Practice aloud at home
Oral Presentation
Your presentation will be graded on the
following characteristics:
Content – Your presentation shows a deep
understanding of the content
Preparedness – You are completely prepared and
have obviously rehearsed
Posture/Eye Contact – You stand up straight,
look confident and relaxed. You make eye
contact with others and use a clear, loud voice.

Let’s take a look at the
grading rubric
Web-Based Research
The purpose of online research is to gather
information about your topic from a variety of
sources. You will be responsible for keeping
track of your sources just like you will be for
book-based information. I will have specific
forms for you to keep track of your online
research.
Web-Based Research
There are 4 places in which you
can find information for your
project.
1. World Book Online (IMC Page)
2. List of category links (on Mrs. T’s and
Mr. Froom’s Edline pages)
3. Student Resource Center (IMC Page)
4. Google searches
