This will be the focus of this Wednesday’s Cold Read Test. Then we will go deeper with cause and effect. Here are some things to ask when you are reading with your child: 1.What is the main idea of the passage or paragraph you just read, and how do you know it is the main idea? 2.What details support the main idea? 3.How is the whole passage organized? (cause/effect, sequence of events/time order, compare/contrast) 4.How is the paragraph you just read organized? Language Arts – By now, students should have mastered starting all sentences with capital letters, ending all sentences with punctuation, and capitalizing proper nouns. Please have them check their homework for these details.
