Covington Chronicle Mrs. Covington’s Third Grade News Weeks of March 7th-11th and 14th -18th Learning Targets This Week Math: 3/7-3/11 and 3/14-3/18 3.NF.3 I can identify, create, and explain equivalent fractions. Please make sure your child is studying their multiplication facts! Last week we worked on identifying fractions on a number line. Students enjoyed creating number lines and sliding a bead to the point on the number line. Literacy: 3/7-3/11 3.L.5 “I can distinguish between literal and non-literal meanings of I will use context clues to help me understand the meaning of literal words and phrases.” 3/14-3/18 3.RI.8 “I can describe connections between sentences and paragraphs.” Last week students heard stories this week from multiple perspectives. We read a simple picture story from four different characters perspectives. We also began writing about our opinion using our experiences and perspectives as evidence. Please make sure that you are checking your child’s Class Dojo. This is the time of the year where students begin to get a bit of “Spring Fever”.
